Attractions

Khozaph Lake (Kartsakh Lake)

Lake Khozap is also called Lake Kartsakh. It is located southeast of the village of Kartsakh. Length about 11 km, width up to 5 km, height 1801 m. It feeds on precipitation and surface waters. In the south of the lake, there are low, flat, rocky islands. The Armenian quail is one of the species of birds that nest around the lake.

-“Tumas” swinging bridge

The swinging bridge “Tumas”, according to local residents and tourists, is in no way inferior to the Brooklyn bridge, this bridge connecting Akhalkalaki with the village of Khulgumo, with a legendary history, has become a visiting card of Akhalkalaki. Tourists and townspeople often compare the bridge to the Brooklyn Bridge and call it “Javakhk Brooklyn”.

The bridge that connects the city with the village, called “Tumas”, has a very interesting history. The bridge is 182 meters long, 2 meters wide and 41 meters high, named after the benefactor – “Tumas”. A swinging iron bridge shortens the road connecting the village to the city by almost 3 km.
